Fill all four fields.

Based on VIT's credit-weighted CGPA

VIT calculates CGPA as the weighted average of grade points using counted course credits. This planner solves that equation for the GPA needed across your next semester's counted credits.

Which credits should I enter?

Use credits that actually count toward programme GPA/CGPA. Pass/fail, audit, Minor and Honours courses are excluded; Version 5.0 also excludes Second Major courses.

Why is the required GPA rounded upward?

VIT reports GPA and CGPA by rounding upward to two decimal places. The planner also rounds the required next-semester GPA upward to two decimals so the displayed goal is conservative.

Formula basis: VIT Academic Regulations 5.0, Section 9.10.

VIT campus and grading coverage

The shared S-to-F grade-point scale and credit-weighted GPA/CGPA method work across the four main VIT campuses. The cited FFCS rules and weighted-marks presets are verified for Vellore and Chennai. VIT-AP and VIT Bhopal students should match editable assessment weights to their campus and course regulation.
