University rule notes

Use the rule for your record

Last verified: Sep 2026

Regulation scope

The cited MAKAUT Controller of Examinations certificate applies the published CGPA or DGPA conversion. Check the certificate or programme rule when your record uses a newer curriculum or another grading model.

Conversion formula

Percentage = (CGPA or DGPA − 0.75) × 10.

The official certificate also states that no class or division is awarded through this conversion. Use CGPA or final DGPA, not SGPA.

What is counted

  • The final CGPA or DGPA printed under the applicable MAKAUT scheme.
  • The conversion rule required by the receiving institution.

What is excluded

  • A semester SGPA used as CGPA or DGPA.
  • The generic CGPA × 10 or ×9.5 formula.

Worked example

A final DGPA of 8.25 gives (8.25 − 0.75) × 10 = 75.00%. A value of 6.75 gives 60.00%.

Common mistakes

  • Using CGPA × 10 and ignoring the 0.75 adjustment.
  • Inferring class or division from the converted percentage when the certificate says it does not award one.
