VTU 2022 assessment weightage
VTU assigns 50% to Continuous Internal Evaluation (CIE) and 50% to the Semester End Examination (SEE). For theory courses, the CIE is split into 25 marks of CCE and 25 marks of IAT. Two IATs of 20 marks each are averaged for the IAT portion; the calculator represents that as 12.5% per test.

Yes. The default preset follows B.E./B.Tech Regulations 2022, but every component's label, maximum marks, and weight can be edited to match what your course faculty communicated, since internal assessment structure can vary by course and department.

Regulation scope
The preset follows the VTU 2022 B.E./B.Tech. theory assessment structure. Course schemes can differ, especially for practical, project and activity courses, so the rows remain editable.
Weighted marks formula
Weighted total = Σ((Marks earned ÷ Maximum marks) × Component weight).
The standard theory view uses 50% CIE and 50% SEE. CCE is 25%, and two IAT components are represented as 12.5% each within CIE.
What is counted
- CCE, IAT and SEE components specified in the course scheme.
- The maximum marks and weight of each assessment component.
What is excluded
- A component that the course scheme does not use.
- Non-credit activity marks when the official grade record excludes them from GPA.
Worked example
CCE 20/25 contributes 20.00, IAT1 14/20 contributes 8.75, IAT2 16/20 contributes 10.00 and SEE 72/100 contributes 36.00. Total = 74.75.
Common mistakes
- Entering an IAT raw score as though it were already scaled to 12.5.
- Assuming every VTU course uses the theory preset or that the weighted total alone proves a pass.
