JNTUH CGPA to percentage formula

Percentage = (Final CGPA − 0.5) × 10. For example, a final CGPA of 8.00 converts to 75.00%.

The reverse is CGPA = (Percentage ÷ 10) + 0.5. JNTUH's regulation states the conversion for the final CGPA; it is not a blanket rule for converting an individual semester SGPA.

The cited R25 and revised R22 B.Tech regulations use the same final-CGPA conversion. This page intentionally covers both directions instead of creating a near-duplicate percentage-to-CGPA page.

Regulation scope

For the final JNTUH B.Tech. CGPA under R25 or R22 non-autonomous rules. Autonomous colleges and other programmes can publish a separate conversion formula.

Conversion formula

Percentage = (Final CGPA − 0.5) × 10. Reverse conversion: CGPA = (Percentage ÷ 10) + 0.5.

Use final CGPA, including any R25 best 160-credit selection. Do not apply this to a semester SGPA.

What is counted

  • The final CGPA printed or calculated under the applicable JNTUH regulation.
  • The regulation’s required credit selection before conversion.

What is excluded

  • Semester SGPA and unofficial intermediate averages.
  • A result from an autonomous college or programme with its own conversion certificate.

Worked example

A final CGPA of 8.00 gives (8.00 − 0.50) × 10 = 75.00%. A stated 82.50% converts back to 8.75 CGPA.

Common mistakes

  • Using the simpler CGPA × 10 formula used by some other universities.
  • Applying the conversion before checking R25’s final credit selection.
