Regulation scope
For JNTUH B.Tech. R25 and R22 in non-autonomous affiliated or constituent colleges. R25 and R22 use the same grade point scale, but their pass thresholds differ.
Total marks and pass rule
Total = CIE + SEE. R25 requires at least 21/60 in SEE and 40/100 overall. R22 also requires at least 14/40 in CIE.
R25 uses 40 CIE + 60 SEE and has no separate CIE minimum in the cited rule. Autonomous colleges can set different thresholds.
What is counted
- The official CIE and SEE marks for the course.
- The grade point assigned by the R25 or R22 table after the pass thresholds are checked.
What is excluded
- Marks from a different regulation, programme or autonomous college.
- A total that passes the overall threshold but fails a regulation-specific component threshold.
Worked example
R25 marks of CIE 26/40 and SEE 47/60 total 73, which maps to B+ and 7 points. Under R22, CIE 12/40 and SEE 50/60 totals 62 but fails the separate 14-mark CIE minimum.
Common mistakes
- Checking only CIE + SEE and missing the R22 CIE minimum.
- Using R22’s rule for a current R25 student or treating Ab as a passing zero.
