JNTUH GPA and CGPA calculator guide
These calculators implement JNTUH B.Tech R25 rules for non-autonomous affiliated colleges and the revised R22 B.Tech rules where a regulation selector is provided. Autonomous colleges, other programmes and older regulations can differ; use the regulation printed on the official academic record.

R25 B.Tech Academic Regulations
Scope: 2025-26 admission onward in JNTUH non-autonomous affiliated colleges
Current regulation. Uses 40 CIE + 60 SEE, permits a 30-mark CBT for missed/improvement mid-term performance, and uses the best 160 credits for final B.Tech CGPA when more than 160 credits are earned.
R22 B.Tech Revised Academic Regulations
Scope: R22 B.Tech cohorts in applicable non-autonomous constituent and affiliated colleges
Uses the same 10-point grade scale and final-CGPA conversion, but requires at least 14/40 in CIE, has no CBT, and does not permit credit exemption.

Σ(Credits × Grade Point) ÷ Σ(Credits)
Multiply each included course’s credits by its grade point. Add the weighted points, add the included credits, then divide. For CGPA, use all counted courses across the semesters covered by your university record. A simple average of semester results is correct only when the counted credits match.

- Courses outside the applicable R25 or R22 regulation.
- Autonomous-college rules and credits excluded by the student’s regulation.
A status can affect progression even when it does not enter CGPA. Check the regulation before removing a failed, repeated, withdrawn, audit or non-credit course.

Worked example
Suppose three included courses carry 4, 3 and 2 credits with grade points 8, 9 and 7. The weighted points are 32, 27 and 14. Their total is 73 and the counted credits total 9, so the semester result is 73 ÷ 9 = 8.11 when displayed to two decimals.
This is an illustration, not an official JNTUH transcript calculation. Replace the example values with the course credits and grade points that your regulation counts.
Common input mistakes
- Choosing a regulation because it gives a better result instead of matching your batch and programme.
- Entering marks where the calculator expects a grade point, or using the wrong university grade table.
- Including audit, pass/fail, withdrawal, exemption or non-credit entries without checking the source clause.
- Taking a simple average of semester SGPAs when the semesters have different counted credits.
- Rounding each intermediate value before the final division or conversion.
