KL University’s published academic framework assigns 60% to Semester-In evaluation and 40% to Semester-End evaluation. The course coordinator specifies the individual assessment components and their weights in the course handout before the semester.
How to enter quizzes, tests, projects or assignments
Split the 60% Semester-In row into the exact components shown in your course handout using Add component, then set each component’s maximum marks and weight. Do not assume the same internal split for every course.

Can I change the assessment components and weights?
Yes. The default preset follows KL published academic grading framework, but every component's label, maximum marks, and weight can be edited to match what your course faculty communicated, since internal assessment structure can vary by course and department.
Is this the official KLU marks calculation?
It reproduces the published weighting from KL University 2023-24 academic handbook (Grading, SGPA, CGPA and conversion sections in the published handbook), checked on 2026-09-12. Your instructor's course handout is the authoritative source if it differs.

Regulation scope
The published KLEF framework assigns 60% to Semester-In and 40% to Semester-End. The course handout sets the internal components, so this calculator is intentionally editable.
Weighted marks formula
Weighted total = (Semester-In ÷ Semester-In maximum) × 60 + (Semester-End ÷ Semester-End maximum) × 40.
A course can use quizzes, tests, projects or assignments inside Semester-In. Use the exact maximum marks and weights in that course handout.
What is counted
- The Semester-In and Semester-End components required by the course.
- Each component’s maximum marks and published weight.
What is excluded
- Components absent from the course handout.
- A generic weight split applied to another programme or course without checking its scheme.
Worked example
Internal marks 48/60 contribute 48.00 and Semester-End marks 72/100 contribute 28.80. The weighted total is 76.80.
Common mistakes
- Entering internal marks out of 100 when the row maximum is 60.
- Assuming the same internal split applies to every KLEF course or that the total alone fixes a relative letter grade.
