KLU SGPA formula
SGPA = Σ(Credits × Grade Point) ÷ Σ(Credits).
Frequently asked questions
How does this KLU SGPA calculator work?
It applies Σ(Credits × Grade Point) ÷ Σ(Credits) exactly as published in KL published academic grading framework (Grading, SGPA, CGPA and conversion sections in the published handbook). Published KLEF grading framework. Programme handbooks and course handouts can define different assessment components.
Will this match the SGPA on my official KLU transcript?
It should, as long as you enter every counted course with the same credits and letter grade shown on your official grade sheet. This calculator was last checked against KL University 2023-24 academic handbook on 2026-09-12 by GradeCalculator.in editorial team. If KLU has since revised the regulation, the official grade sheet takes precedence.
How do I convert my KLU CGPA to a percentage?
KLU's published conversion is percentage = 10 × CGPA − 7.5. Use the CGPA to percentage calculator to apply it automatically.

KLEF B.Tech. grade table
Published absolute bands. A course handout can specify relative grading.
| Grade | Points | Marks or status |
|---|---|---|
| O | 10 | 90–100 |
| A+ | 9 | 80–89 |
| A | 8 | 70–79 |
| B+ | 7 | 60–69 |
| B | 6 | 50–59 |
| C | 5 | 46–49 |
| P | 4 | 40–45 |
| F / AB | 0 | 0–39 or absent |
Regulation scope
This page follows the published KLEF B.Tech. handbook framework. Confirm the programme handbook and course handout because KLEF can use absolute or relative grading by course.
SGPA formula
SGPA = Σ(Credit × Grade Point) ÷ Σ(Credits), rounded to two decimals.
Use the awarded letter grade, not a guessed mark band, for a relative-grading course.
What is counted
- Credit-bearing courses undergone in the semester.
- The grade point printed or awarded for each course.
What is excluded
- Audit, certificate and non-credit courses.
- A course that the programme record explicitly keeps outside the SGPA.
Worked example
For 3 credits at A, 4 at B+, 3 at B, 3 at O, 3 at C and 4 at B, the points are 24 + 28 + 18 + 30 + 15 + 24 = 139. SGPA = 139 ÷ 20 = 6.95.
Common mistakes
- Treating C as 6 or using another university’s table. KLEF’s published table gives C = 5.
- Counting an audit or certificate course as a credit-bearing course.

The credit-weighted SGPA/CGPA method and published conversion are supported across KLEF programmes that use the cited framework. Relative grading and internal assessment components can vary by course, programme and handbook, so the weighted-marks tool remains editable.
