Frequently asked questions
How does this SRM SGPA calculator work?
It applies Σ(Credits × Grade Point) ÷ Σ(Credits) exactly as published in B.Tech/M.Tech (Integrated) Regulations 2021 (R4.5 to R4.6 and R8.1 to R8.7). SRMIST engineering cohorts governed by the 2021 regulation. Separate SRM universities publish their own rules.
Will this match the SGPA on my official SRM transcript?
It should, as long as you enter every counted course with the same credits and letter grade shown on your official grade sheet. This calculator was last checked against SRM B.Tech/M.Tech (Integrated) Regulations 2021 on 2026-09-12 by GradeCalculator.in editorial team. If SRM has since revised the regulation, the official grade sheet takes precedence.
How do I convert my SRM CGPA to a percentage?
SRM's published conversion is percentage = CGPA × 10. Use the CGPA to percentage calculator to apply it automatically.

Regulation scope
For SRMIST B.Tech. and M.Tech. Integrated courses under the 2021 regulation. The linked rules cover SRMIST campuses, not separate SRM universities.
Course GPA formula
GPA = Σ(Credit × Grade Point) ÷ Σ(Credits). F, Ab and I carry zero points and remain course outcomes.
SRM normalizes internal and final marks before awarding the letter grade. Use the normalized official grade for GPA.
What is counted
- Credit-bearing courses and their official normalized letter grades.
- F, Ab and I as zero-point course outcomes.
What is excluded
- Mandatory non-credit courses.
- Raw component marks used as if they were already the normalized final mark.
Worked example
A 4-credit A gives 32 points, a 3-credit B+ gives 21 and a 2-credit F gives 0. GPA = 53 ÷ 9 = 5.89.
Common mistakes
- Removing F from the denominator.
- Using raw component marks before SRM’s normalization step.

SRM campus and grading coverage
The current calculators implement the cited SRMIST B.Tech/M.Tech (Integrated) 2021 regulation. They cover SRMIST campuses where that programme and batch regulation applies. Students at SRM-AP, SRM Haryana or SRM Sikkim must use their own university regulation and can edit weighted components when the published scheme differs.
